A Safe Space To Talk

A Safe Space To TalkA Safe Space To TalkA Safe Space To Talk

Psychotherapy and Counselling Service for Adults

Home

Space to talk. Time to understand.

Life can sometimes feel difficult to navigate.

You may be dealing with anxiety, stress, grief, trauma, addiction or questions about who you are and where your life is heading. You may be struggling with relationships or finding yourself repeating patterns that you don't fully understand.

Or perhaps nothing is obviously wrong, but something doesn't feel right.

Therapy offers you a confidential and non judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life and explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be difficult to make sense of on your own.

Room to Be

At Room to Be Therapy, I offer one-to-one psychotherapy and counselling in a confidential, safe and non-judgemental environment.

There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about. We can take the time to understand what has brought you here and what you would like from therapy.

You don't have to work everything out on your own.

Sometimes, having room to be is where understanding begins.

About Therapy

What is therapy?

Therapy is a conversation, but it is different from talking with a friend, colleague or family member.

It gives you dedicated time and space to focus entirely on yourself, with someone who is trained to listen carefully, without judgement or expectation.

Together, we can explore what is happening in your life, how past experiences may be affecting you today, and the patterns, relationships and choices that shape the way you experience yourself and the world around you.

Therapy is not about someone telling you how to live your life or giving you all the answers. It is about developing a better understanding of yourself and creating the possibility for change.

Why therapy?

People come to therapy for many different reasons.

You might be experiencing:

  • Anxiety or persistent worry
  • Stress or feeling overwhelmed
  • Trauma or difficult experiences from the past
  • Grief, bereavement or loss
  • Addiction or behaviours that feel difficult to change
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Questions around identity, belonging or purpose
  • Low confidence or self-esteem
  • A major change or difficult period in your life
  • A feeling of being stuck or unsure about what comes next

You don't need to have a diagnosis or be in crisis to come to therapy.

Sometimes people simply want to understand themselves better, make sense of what they are experiencing, or have somewhere they can speak openly without worrying about how their words will affect somebody else.

Whatever brings you to therapy, we can begin with where you are now.

My approach to therapy

Therapy centered around you

Therapy centered around you

Therapy centered around you

Everyone comes to therapy with a unique personal story shaped by their experiences, relationships, culture and identity.

Because of this, I do not use a one size fits all approach to therapy.

My work is existential and integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic ideas depending on what feels most helpful for you. The focus is always on understanding your individual circumstances and what you are going through.

Therapy is adapted to you rather than you adapting to therapy.

A safe place to talk

Therapy centered around you

Therapy centered around you

Therapy provides a space where you can speak about things that may feel difficult to share elsewhere.

A trusting, safe and open relationship is central to how I work.

Sessions are confidential and non-judgemental, allowing you to bring whatever is on your mind without pressure to present yourself in a certain way. You do not need to worry about saying the “right” thing.

We move at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you.

Understanding, not judging

Therapy centered around you

Understanding, not judging

Therapy is not about fixing you, but about developing a deeper understanding of your experiences.

Together, we explore what is happening in your life now, as well as how past experiences, relationships and patterns may be influencing you. We may also reflect on questions of identity, meaning and direction.

Over time, this process can help you see yourself and your choices more clearly. Greater understanding can open up new possibilities that may not have felt available before.

How we will work

Working together

Therapy is something we do together.

I will listen carefully, ask questions and sometimes offer observations or different ways of looking at what you bring. At other times, what may be most helpful is simply having the space to say something and have it genuinely heard.

There isn't a predetermined route that every session has to follow.

We start with you and work from there.

Our first conversation

Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly if you haven't experienced it before.

Our first conversation gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you are hoping for and any questions or concerns you may have.

It also gives you an opportunity to experience how I work and decide whether you feel comfortable working with me.

Finding a therapist with whom you feel able to talk openly matters. There is no obligation to continue if you feel that I am not the right therapist for you.

About me

Understanding people has always been central to my work

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent many years working in business across a range of industries, organisations and cultures.

This experience gave me the opportunity to work closely with people from very different backgrounds and life stages.

Over time, I became less focused on roles and outcomes and more interested in the human experience behind them. I began to notice how people are shaped by their relationships, environments and personal histories, and how these influence the way they see themselves. This curiosity naturally led me towards psychotherapy, where understanding people in depth is at the heart of the work.

My training

I completed postgraduate training in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent’s University London.  I am a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work within its ethical framework.

My approach is existential and integrative, which means I focus on the whole person rather than just symptoms or difficulties. I am interested in how you make sense of your life, your relationships, identity and values, and what gives your experiences meaning. I also draw on different therapeutic approaches so that the work can be shaped around what is most helpful for you as an individual.

How I work

I bring together my therapeutic training and my earlier experience of working with people in business into the therapy room.

I aim to offer a calm, thoughtful and non judgemental space where you can speak freely and feel heard. I do not assume I already understand your experience, but instead we explore it together at your pace.

My work is supported by regular professional supervision, which helps me reflect and maintain ethical and effective practice. Ultimately, therapy with me is about creating a space where you can understand yourself more deeply and begin to explore what change might look like for you.
